I've realized that many of my posts may end up being about the funny things that Finn says. Here is the latest. Last night we spent the night in a hotel room in Tampa after spending the day with family at Busch Gardens. As we were getting Julien and Finn ready for bed, I guess I mentioned to Sean about going down to the bar to get a glass of wine to celebrate to New Year. Well, a few minutes later, Finn with his tired face (after a long day at the park) and disheveled hair starts heading to the door to leave. I asked him, "Finn where are you going?" With a serious and straight face he says to us, "I am going to the bar mommy." Sean and I instantly broke into laughter. He doesn't even know why that is so funny. I then asked him what he plans on getting at the "bar" and he informed us that we are in need of some cereal!
Today, after getting the car packed up to head back to Gainesville, I was waiting for Finn to get into his car seat. He was being silly and not cooperating, so with a stern voice I said, "Finn...GET in your seat!!!" Without blinking he looked at me and with a funny tone in his voice said, "mommy, why are you so mad?" Nothing like a 3 year-old to keep life in perspective. He helps keep a smile on my face!! Especially after the reassuring words he gave me when he saw me upset after leaving family for the holidays. He saw how I was sad and said, "it's okay mommy, you can see your family soon." He didn't stop trying to make me feel better until he saw a smile on my face. He even made me take off my sunglasses to see that my eyes were dry! Finn gets that persistance from his daddy. I love how compassionate he is already.
I am looking forward to many more funny conversations in the New Year and I will make sure to share the highlights with you.
Happy New Year!!
